|Fate:||Collapsed during testing|
Construction of SN3 was completed by 29 March 2020 when the test vehicle was moved to the pad.
During its only cryogenic pressure test on 3 April, SN3 had its lower liquid oxygen tanks filled with nitrogen, while the methane tanks were pressurise for testing.
An accident resulted in the nitrogen being vented first, with SN3 then collapsing on itself due to the weight in the upper tanks. Elon Musk later confirmed that this was a result of a test configuration error. At the same time SN4 was already under construction, and some undamaged sections of SN3 would be used in the next prototype.
